One of my favorite sandwiches is peanut butter and jelly. When did those two tastes collide? Just like a good peanut butter and jelly sandwich, there are times with two things fit together to create something wonderful….
I loved them! Still do. My kids enjoyed learning about one topic and exploring it in various way.
Even in horrific events such as the Titanic disaster amazing stories emerge. They are not all from a Christian world view, but they are interesting. I hope you will take time to enjoy this fascinating book! The result shows the genius of the project, the use of anonymity displaying a greater level of intimacy and vulnerability than might have been possible by any other means.
There is a little bit of mystery to each one — allowing the reader to visually connect with the inspiring story. Just a note. We are celebrating Christmas with our holiday sale price! Post a Comment. My Thoughts: I've always been fascinated by what hands tell us about people, so this book appealed to me a great deal!
Malcolm delivers a remarkable work of inspiration with 60 biographical stories, each illustrated by a captivating photo by professional photographer Terilee Dawn Ouimette. Research for the coffee table-style book was accomplished through a series of interviews and photo shoots, with subjects ranging from adolescent to elderly, from former gangster to humble homeless, international refugee to hero-housewife, from pro athlete to Hollywood celebrity. If pictures are worth 1, words, then Shelley Malcom and Terilee Dawn Ouimette have captured a priceless treasure in their collaboration known as Real. I can see the stories - and photos - serving as a launching point for small group discussion. I often find myself at work in the library looking at patron's hands as they pass their books across the counter to me to be checked out. One of the amazing highlights during the production of REAL happened by a series of coincidences. I am a member of two blog alliances and I work directly with publicists and publishers at their request to review a variety of Christian fiction and non-fiction books. I receive no compensation other than free copies of the books to read, and when a give away is offered, that copy of the book is also provided by the publisher for that exact purpose. I give my opinions both positively and negatively and will continue to do so as time permits and as I am able.
I do this because I love to read and I love to share my thoughts with others who love good books and Christian stories.
